Hearing Instrument Specialist

Meet Elizabeth A. Hopkins

Elizabeth A. Hopkins is Nationally Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tenn.  Ms. Hopkins is a member of the Tennessee Hearing Society.

Ms. Hopkins began her career in hearing healthcare at the Shea Clinic in Memphis, TN.  While there, Ms. Hopkins began working in the Audiology Department and eventually moved full-time to the hearing aid division of the Clinic, Hearing Services of Memphis. In the fall of 2000, Ms. Hopkins joined Dr. Daniel J. Orchik as a Hearing Instrument Specialist when he opened Hearing and Balance Center of West Tennessee and The Jackson Hearing Center.  At Dr. Orchik’s retirement in 2007, Ms. Hopkins and Dr. Katherine H. Tackett purchased the practices.

For over 35 years, Ms. Hopkins has been evaluating, prescribing and fitting hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.  She finds enhancing someone’s hearing and making a difference in their life very rewarding.    Ms. Hopkins works to make sure each patient has the opportunity to experience the best hearing aid technology has to offer.    She believes that listening to the needs of her patients is very important to their success of better hearing.   In her office is a plaque that says: People may forget what you said or what you did but no how you made them feel. She lives by that.

Ms. Hopkins and her husband, Mike, enjoy spending time at their Pickwick lake home. Her husband is an avid fisherman and on occasion she can give him a run for his money!
